"At Heart of Ohio Tole a couple weeks ago, I mentioned to the fellow in your booth that I did a project using one of your patterns ( Heirloom Photo Frame, page 40, from your Linens & Lace book, Vol. 3) as guidance. He foolishly asked me to send you a picture. Ooooh. The project came out pretty nice, so here it is! Needless to say, I'll be doing more. I greatly enjoyed your technique. I think it will be a good seller for me. Thanks for your great books!"

"I thought you might like to see a project that I completed for a local charity - Community Living London (an organization that supports people with an intellectual disability). Several artists in London paint chairs which are then sold by silent auction and a few are selected to be sold by live auction at a Finale event. One of the chairs I painted was a Muskoka Chair and I painted the back of the chair to look like a fan. I used portions of some of your designs and adapted them to fit the chair. This chair was selected as one to go into the live auction and a local Corporation sponsored the chair.

The fan chair is in Corporate Entries Also look at the other chairs in Artist Entries
"Thanks for the inspiration and I already have a copy of Vol 3 and looking for pieces to paint on!"

"My husband and I are heading out to Seattle to visit our oldest Son and his family. With this thought in mind, I wanted a purse/bag that had a bit more room to it to use while out shopping etc. I found an inexpensive one at a discount shoe store. It was absolutely plain but I knew I could dress it up. So when I got home I started to think how to embellish it and my mind went to your designs as the perfect answer. So with some paint, textile medium, some beaded ribbon, etc. I think I now have the perfect bag. I do hope you approve and agree. As we speak I'm anxiously waiting for your newest book to be delivered. Do keep up the good work. I love it so, as does all the members of our local SDP chapter (Shades of the Blue Ridge). One of our members taught one of your patterns at a chapter meeting not long ago and it was quite a hit."

Sharlene writes: Hi Arlene. I purchased your Linens and Lace Collection book some time ago and have been enjoying the projects in it. I’ve also taught many of them at various studios. I’m enclosing some of the pictures of class samples that I’ve painted and taught. I love the lace pattern that was in one of the Decorative Painter magazines and I plan to do that project next and offer it as a class in my new studio, Artfully Toled Studio.

BHADA Past President"Hi Arlene, I was so inspired by your designs in your Linens & Lace Collection II. As you can see, I painted one for a graduation present for our Goddaughter. This is the candle plate design that I put on a wood box and added the initial. By the way, please create a floral linen & lace alphabet for us!!"

In January, members of the Calgary Decorative Artists had an opportunity to paint an Arlene Linton piece. Sharlene Arseneau, owner of Artfully Toled Studio in Calgary, taught the group a special little piece that gave them a good general overview of all the special techniques that Arlene uses to create her gorgeous lace patterns. The group painted the “Pencil Box” pattern from Arlene’s first book and the enclosed picture says it all….everyone did an outstanding job of their project. The Calgary Decorative Artists are an affiliated chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters and are
about 70 members strong. We are one of only three Chapters here in Canada and we are proudly
celebrating our 25th Anniversary in 2006. We meet on the second Monday of the month with the
exception of July and August. Every second month we have a 3-hour paint in taught by someone in
the Chapter and twice a year (January and June) we have an all day paint-in. We are also very busy
supporting our community through raffles to generate donations, the Memory Box Program and other
activities taken on by the generous individuals of the Chapter.
