It all began with a first class in 1989 when she needed to purchase a single $30 sable brush. (Her husband Dave nearly fainted when he went to pay for the brush!).
That class soon led to a Folk Art tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where Arlene met three incredible teachers from Australia. Pam Jones, Carol Swan and Pam Taylor invited Arlene to Australia to paint. She has been back to Australia several times and has also painted in Tuscany and Nice.
In 1998, a workshop at her church affirmed her giftedness in teaching. So, after working many years as a surgical dental assistant, Arlene decided to follow God’s leading and pursue a career teaching her passion: Decorative Folk Art.
